The story of Ruder Berna
The story all began in a lazy after noon in a small cafe at Fifth Avenue (New York).
Winston was enjoying a rich latte and looking at the view of some of the greatest brands in the world. Winston was truly touched and inspired by the design and craftsmanship of these brands such as Hermes and Louis Vuitton.
These brands' core philosophy is based on personalization and quality. Hermes is originated from creating personalized horse riding equipment whilst Louis Vuitton creates personalized luggage which is easy to carry.
Winston reflected on the current bike riding culture and the epiphany of combining boutique manufacturing and single speed bike riding came to mind. Winston then started planning for the designs and construction of these magnificent works of art and after years of hard work. Ruben Berna has now become renown in the area of personalized single speed bikes with emphasis on customized colours.
However, Winston wanted to further incorporate the boutique manufacturing culture into the bikes production. Ruder Berna would then be separated into three different brands - Eightper, Funla. They will display different design concepts and quality for single speed bikes.
The core philosophy & concepts of Eightper are to make quality products that last for infinity. As mentioned before, Winston always wants to make bikes meet the stringent standards of boutique manufacturing and pick 8 core concept designs out of 100 that meet such standard and further derive the brand name of Eightper. In the near future, we look forward to producing bikes that will change the traditional view of single speed bikes and hopefully gathering a clan of Eightper.
